How to Add NON-SLIP Additive to Your PAVEMAX Paving Paint

Want to make your outdoor surfaces safer? Adding MASTERMAX NON-SLIP ADDITIVE to your PAVEMAX Paving Paint is an easy way to reduce slips on paths, steps, and driveways. Here’s how to do it!

MASTERMAX NON-SLIP Additive
MASTERMAX NON-SLIP Additive

MASTERMAX NON-SLIP ADDITIVE is a clear, powdered texturising agent designed to give your PAVEMAX Paving Paint a non-abrasive, slip-resistant finish. It disperses easily through the coating without changing the colour, making it perfect for walkways and outdoor areas. Unlike adding sand to paint, which can slightly alter the colour, our NON-SLIP ADDITIVE is see-through and won’t affect the original finish of your paint.

PAVEMAX Paving Paint is a high-performance, water-based acrylic paint designed for concrete and bituminous surfaces. It offers excellent durability, fast drying times, and a wear-resistant finish, making it ideal for driveways, paths, and patios. PAVEMAX comes in a range of colours, ensuring a stylish finish while protecting your surfaces.

Ideal Uses for PAVEMAX:

  • Concrete driveways and paths

  • Bituminous surfaces

  • Patios and outdoor steps

  • Courtyards and garages

What You Need:

Steps to Add NON-SLIP ADDITIVE:

  1. Measure the Additive: Add 200g of NON-SLIP ADDITIVE for every 4 litres of PAVEMAX Paving Paint. This equals about 5 heaped tablespoons per litre.

  2. Mix Thoroughly: Slowly pour the NON-SLIP ADDITIVE into your paint while stirring. Mix it well, then let it stand for 5 minutes. Stir again just before applying and each time you use the paint.

  3. Apply the Paint: Apply the paint evenly and generously. To get an even texture, avoid overbrushing or overworking the surface.

  4. Apply Multiple Coats: After applying the primer (if needed), use at least two full coats of PAVEMAX mixed with NON-SLIP ADDITIVE for the best results.

PAVEMAX Paving Paint Drying Times & Recoating:

Drying Times & Recoating:

PAVEMAX Paving Paint dries to the touch in about 30 minutes under normal conditions. You can apply a second coat after 2 hours. For heavy traffic areas, allow at least 24 hours before use.

Limitations:

  • Not recommended for wooden surfaces or decks.

  • Avoid application if rain is expected within 24 hours.

  • Do not apply in temperatures below 10°C or above 30°C.

Using NON-SLIP ADDITIVE with Other Paints:

While PAVEMAX Paving Paint is perfect for concrete and bituminous surfaces, MASTERMAX NON-SLIP ADDITIVE can also be added to other paints and sealers to reduce slip on steps and driveways. It is not designed for use on wooden decks. Just follow the same mixing instructions for safe, slip-resistant results.

Tips:

  • Always test a small area first to ensure you like the texture and finish.

  • NON-SLIP ADDITIVE might slightly reduce the gloss level of your paint.

  • Store any leftover additive in a cool place away from sunlight.
