DESCRIPTION:

EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE is a solvent based sealer designed to stabilise porous or friable cementitious and masonry surfaces. It helps eliminate uneven substrate absorption and acts as a primer for concrete surfaces such as new tilt slab.

PROPERTIES:
EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE is a clear solvent based, UV stable, penetrating sealer.

PRINCIPAL USES:

As well as stabilising porous and friable concrete and terracotta roof tiles, EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE can be used as a glaze coat for plain or stamped concrete driveways, exposed aggregate, slate and similar masonry surfaces.

EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE can also be used as an adhesion primer for tilt slab, off-form concrete, and new concrete surfaces.

APPLICATION DATA: Surface Preparation:

All Surfaces:

Must be sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, oil, grease, mould, moss, soot, salt, bird droppings and other contaminants. For uncoated, non porous surfaces (eg steel trowelled finishes - uncoated) these require acid etching to aid penetration.

The key to EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE is “that it must be able to penetrate the surface like a stain/sealer”, enabling it to lock onto the concrete whilst still displaying the surface texture.

Concrete or Terracotta Roof Tiles:

If mould or moss is present, pre-treat the surfaces in advance with proprietary fungicidal product and leave for at least 2 weeks, then remove dead material and dirt by scraping or scrubbing. Leave to dry.

Weathered and Porous Concrete or Terracotta Roof Tiles:

Apply one generous coat by brush or roller working well into the surface to ensure all loose and friable material is bound back to provide a sound basecoat for subsequent finishing with two coats of ROOFMAX, MULITMAX, FLAKAPROOF, MULTIVERSAL or other suitable Agrippa Paints finishes.

Off-Form Concrete and Tilt Slab Surfaces:

Fresh concrete must be allowed to cure for at least 28 days prior to the application of EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE.

Mould release agents must be removed by detergent washing and the surface must show no sign of water repellency before applying EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE.

Apply one coat of EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE by airless spray, brush or roller prior to the application of any finish coats.

If a clear glazed finish is required up to three coats may be needed on porous surfaces to obtain an even sheen.

Concrete, Slate or Terracotta walk on surfaces:

Fresh concrete must be allowed to cure for at least 28 days prior to the application of EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE.

Apply one coat to give or restore the factory fresh “wet look” to these surfaces. Depending on porosity, up to three coats may be required to achieve an even sheen.

To avoid slip hazards the addition of 50g/L of NON-SLIP ADDITIVE may be required for a glaze finish on walk-on surfaces.

Application:

Apply on a fine day. Avoid application if rain is forecast within 24 hours or the temperature is below 10°C or above 35°C. If applying to a roof, the substrate temperature will be greater than the air temperature and application to hot surfaces may be difficult due to rapid evaporation and may also produce an uneven finish.

Apply with a good quality brush, roller or airless spray. Apply by brush or roller only when using as a binding sealer on weathered Concrete or Terracotta tiles with a loose or friable surface.

Touch Dry:

EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE will be touch dry in approximately 30 minutes.

Recoat:

EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE can be recoated after 2 hours.

For maximum adhesion on non-porous surfaces such as off-form concrete or tilt slab any overcoating finish should be applied within 24 hours of application of EASY SEAL SOLVENT ROOF GLAZE.

Clean-up:

EASY SEAL THINNER or Universal Thinners.
